Solutions Data Client Memory Server
Follow these instructions to set up Netscape Communicator 4.5 for
the e-mail service.
1.Start Netscape Communicator.
2.Click Edit, then click Preferences.
Setting up e-mail
1.Click the plus (+) sign next to Mail & Newsgroups.
2.Click Mail Servers.
3.In the Incoming Mail Servers section, click Add…
4.Type the Incoming Mail Server in the Server Name box.
5.Select POP3 Server in the Server Type pull-down menu.
6.Type your User ID in the User Name box.
7.Click OK to return to the Preferences window.
8.Type the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server in the Outgoing mail
(SMTP) server box.
Setting up your identity
1.In the Mail & Newsgroups category, click Identity.
2.Enter your personal information. This information will appear in
the e-mail messages that you send.
Setting up newsgroups
1.In the Mail & Newsgroups category, click Newsgroup Servers.
2.Click Add…
3.Type your news server in the Server box, then click OK.
4.Click OK to exit the Preferences window.
To set up E-mail Eudora Light manually:
You will need the following pieces of information before you continue.
User ID - your User ID is your e-mail prefix - the part of
the e-mail address before the @.
E-mail password.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) address.
Incoming mail server (POP) address.
1.Close all programs or windows currently opened.
2.Start Eudora Light.
3.Click the Tools menu, then click Options.
4.Under the Category section on the left of the screen, click the
Getting Started option.
5.Under POP Account type your username followed by the @
symbol and the incoming mail server.
6.Under Real Name type your name. This will be displayed in all
messages that will be sent.
7.Under Return Address, enter your e-mail address.
8.Under Connection Method, select Winsock.
9.Change the category on the left side pane to Hosts by clicking
it once.
10.In the SMTP box, type the outgoing mail server.
11.Leave both Ph and Finger fields blank.
12.Change the category on the left side pane to Checking Mail by
clicking it once.
13.Under the Check for mail every box, type a value in minutes.
14.Place a check mark under the Send on check and Save
password boxes.
15.Under Determine first unread message by: box, place a
check mark under the First message not read by this
machine box.
16.Under the Authentication section, put a check mark under the
Passwords bullet.
